Do I need prior experience in entertainment or tech?
No. Most of our partners come from hospitality, retail, or general business backgrounds. We train your team on everything technical. What matters is local market knowledge and the drive to build something.
How much space do I actually need?
Minimum 1,500 sq ft of open, unobstructed floor space for a functional single-arena setup. Larger spaces (2,500 sq ft+) allow parallel arenas which improve throughput significantly. We'll advise on what makes sense for your footfall expectations.
What's the rough investment involved?
It varies based on your city, venue size, and fit-out scope. We share a detailed breakdown after the discovery call so you have full clarity before any commitment.
How long does it take to open?
From signed agreement to opening day is typically 4–6 months: 4–6 weeks for hardware procurement and shipping, 6–10 weeks for fit-out and systems setup, and 2 weeks for staff training and soft launch.
Do I operate under the Totem brand or my own?
You operate under the Totem brand and benefit from our existing reputation and SEO. If you have a strong local brand and want a co-branded arrangement, let's talk and figure out what makes sense for your market.
What ongoing fees are involved?
There's a monthly licensing fee which covers continued access to the software platform, new worlds as they release, and ongoing ops support. The exact structure is in the franchise agreement we share after the discovery call.
